What Is the KNU Diet
The KNU Diet (Kagawa Nutrition University Diet)
is one of the useful diet tools to help you eat more healthfully.

STEP 1: 4 Food Grroups
The KNU Diet is organized into four food groups based on their nutrient contents.
There are
Group 1 (dairy products and eggs),
Group 2
(meat, fish and beans),
Group 3
(vegetables and fruits), and
Group 4
(grains, oil, and sugar).

By making choices from each food group, you are able to take the right balance of nutrients. Moreover, you can enjoy a variety of meals without boring by just picking up diffrent kinds of foods from each group.


STEP 2: 80kcal as 1points
For your well-balanced diet, you count
80kcal as 1 point.


STEP 3:
20points per day
The basic
total points per day is 20 points (1600kcal)

Depending on your age, sex, and activity level, your required calories are decided.

For a 20 point diet (1600kcal), at first you choose
3-point foods from Group 1 to Group 3 (9 points in total) in order to take the necessary nutrients for everyone. @And then, you choose 11-point foods from Group 4.
