| What Is the KNU Diet |
| The KNU Diet (Kagawa Nutrition University Diet) is one of the useful diet tools to help you eat more healthfully. |
| STEP 1: 4 Food Grroups The KNU Diet is organized into four food groups based on their nutrient contents. There are Group 1 (dairy products and eggs), Group 2 (meat, fish and beans), Group 3 (vegetables and fruits), and Group 4 (grains, oil, and sugar). By making choices from each food group, you are able to take the right balance of nutrients. Moreover, you can enjoy a variety of meals without boring by just picking up diffrent kinds of foods from each group. |
STEP 2: 80kcal as 1pointsFor your well-balanced diet, you count 80kcal as 1 point. STEP 3: 20points per day The basic total points per day is 20 points (1600kcal). @ Depending on your age, sex, and activity level, your required calories are decided. For a 20 point diet (1600kcal), at first you choose 3-point foods from Group 1 to Group 3 (9 points in total) in order to take the necessary nutrients for everyone. @And then, you choose 11-point foods from Group 4. |
